Gerard (Gerry) Coté, an entrepreneur by nature, considers himself a “regular guy”, someone who recognizes what must be done and does it. His colorful and diverse life has combined to create a profound respect for God, life, nature, human desire, interaction, results and hopefully progress. His academic work involved
specific studies at several community colleges in Art, Accounting, Business,
Chemistry, Engineering, Finance and Real Estate Appraising. As one
of five children from a typical New England community, he created his own
way from an early age. The Vietnam War
interrupted his schooling
but not his education and served to focus him on the fundamental human
values
that guide us. His Vietnam experience taught him that there are
no winners in war,
only survivors; that the coercive tactics of war are a testament to the
failure of the human spirit. In seeing war up-close and personal
he experienced the general confusion and pain of both combatants and
non-combatants, how most didn't understand or want such overt and
drastic conflict. His adult life has been a high energy blend of interwoven pursuits, often combining two or more disciplines simultaneously. His professional training includes U.S. Army flight school; F.A.A. flight designation courses which include both rotary and fixed wing commercial designations; real estate appraising and sales courses; business management courses and professional designations seminars; as well as professional computer, finance, marketing, photography, publishing, awareness and motivational courses. His life experiences include many aspects of business ownership and financial involvement, with special emphasis on understanding human needs and involvement. These experiences honed his ability to recognize social and business trends. They provided him with a wealth of experiences and were germane to providing the insight for his 1992 book The 5 Minute Citizen. This book encourages citizen awareness; to understand the significance of and rekindle their awareness as well as participation in our self governmental process. Except for a 3 year stint in the late 1980's with a major aviation service vendor, he's been self-employed, owning several businesses ranging from aviation services to consumer retail, culminating as a senior partner in a business counseling company which specialized in start-up and growth opportunities. His primary focus has always been people; their needs, wants and circumstances; and on how to help create a life of value and accomplishment. This blending, combined with enough time away from these activities to appreciate them, has enabled him to assimilate his experiences and keep "the big picture" in focus. In 1992, he founded and chaired American Forum, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose purpose was providing Americans from all walks of life a simple vehicle for accessing information and involving themselves in vital issues. In researching government documents, statutes, regulations and the "special" definitions which apply to them, he discovered many unsettling aspects of how the country was being restructured. This last decade has been a constant pursuit of the fundamental truths of why America is not working as we think it should. The countless hours of research have uncovered an amazing and evident pattern, both personal and national; which show how the daily patterns of both our personal lives and this country have been drastically altered. None of this is highlighted in the established media, but it is evident through fundamental research and recorded government documents; both of which are available for anyone who chooses to take the time to find and read them. Currently, he is the president of Spiritual Renaissance, a small not-for-profit association that provides domestic missionary services across our united States focusing on personal and national health. The mission he has accepted and the passion he has is directed toward his own generation, the baby-boomers as well as all other Americans to:
He promotes a lifestyle based on fundamental balance, both personal and consequently national. He recognizes that all generations are identified by the 20-60-20 rule and assists all in recognizing what this means and where they fit in. Since the founding of this nation; 20% strongly support, 60% go along with, and 20% strongly oppose foundational issues. His goal is to help unite the 20% active supporters and organize the 60% who naturally don't become involved, to support those who naturally are involved. This mission has evolved into a delightful ministry. He's humbly accepted this wandering life of a domestic missionary and has turned away from further materialistic achievement and has dedicated the rest of his earthly life to exemplifying Christ's example of a deep abiding faith in God and sharing with his fellow brothers and sisters. His message resonates with the singular theme that America was founded and prospered on solid Christian principles; and to recreate that prosperity, which is not material, we must individually recommit to those fundamental values and eternal truths before our nation will reflect them again. He encourages Americans of all walks of life to return to this once vibrant Christian heritage under which our ancestors prospered; to listen to that still small voice of their own spirit, which mirrors the Spirit of God; and to not just know what to do, but to actually do it. Ultimately, to live and exemplify what they know in their hearts, the embodiment of the eternal truths through honest daily examples of properly caring for themselves and this unique nation. |
